Search Buzz Video Recap: Google Maccabees Update, Search Console More Data, Longer Meta Descriptions & Bing Updates

This week in search, we covered a large Google search algorithmic update that we named the Maccabees update. Google added over 12 months of data to the beta version of Google Search Console. Google plans on rolling out the new Google Search Console early next year. Google says you can extend your meta descriptions for the longer search results snippets. Google may have updated the knowledge graph algorithm as well. Google has updated their SEO starter guide after several years. Bing made search improvements including intelligent answers, Reddit integration and more. Google said watch your log files to see if you have switched to the mobile first index. Google defined doorway pages nicely. Google Search Console is sending out TLS notifications but outdated TLS won’t hurt your rankings. Google does not recommend you use a generic disavow file. Google added many features to flight search, hotel search, and Google Trips. Google added a selfie video feature to mobile search. Google released their search ear in review.
