Here is a recap of what happened in the search forums today, through the eyes of the Search Engine Roundtable and other search forums on the web.

Search Engine Roundtable Stories:

  • Vlog #2: Lily Ray of Path Interactive How To Fix Your Site After A Google Core Update
In our second ever vlog series at the Search Engine Roundtable I interviewed Lily Ray (@lilyraynyc) of Path Interactive. Lily Ray is the SEO Director at Path Interactive, a leading search marketing agency in New York City. Lily leads a team of over 10 SEOs and overseas dozens of diverse projects for her company.
  • Sites Prepared For Google Mobile First Indexing May Have Not Moved Yet?
I am highlighting this twitter exchange because it down right confuses me. Kenichi Suzuki, a well seasoned SEO, asked John Mueller if a site that was well prepared for mobile-first indexing has not moved over yet, should you be concerned? John said that it can happen and there are many sites not switched over yet.
  • Google Maps Bug With Business Reviews Disappearing
In the past week or so, many local SEOs have been complaining that reviews on local listings in Google are disappearing. Some are saying it is tied to the launch of short names and removing your short name will bring back the reviews but I am not sure if that is correct.
  • Dual Google Business Related Carousel
Here is a screen shot from Ellen Edmands of Google showing a double or dual listing for a business "related" carousel on desktop. I cannot replicate this and I don't think I've ever seen this happen before but I am told it does happen and it is rare.
  • Google AMP Visual Stories Now Live
Back in February 2018 Google announced a new form of AMP Stories named "visual stories." Well, it looks like they are now live. Truth is, they may have been live for some time but I have not seen them until now. Valentin Pletzer shared he spotted it on mobile for a query on [fortnite battle royale].
  • Google: Both Old Or New Domains Do Not Benefit You In Google
Google's John Mueller had to come on Twitter and once again dispel the myth that the age of a domain name does not matter in terms of Google's ranking algorithms. New or old domains can rank well and it doesn't help your site rank to register your domain name for a longer period of time.
  • Martin Splitt Of Google At Western Wall
A few weeks ago, Martin Splitt of Google went on this Angular road trip doing some speaking and training in Israel and some of them went on a field trip to the Western Wall, also known at the Kotel.
