Google Merchant Center now lets you upload videos of your products through a new Product videos section. "Product videos offer a more engaging and immersive experience to customers," Google wrote on the "Add videos" page within Merchant Center.
This was spotted by Arpan Banerjee who posted a screenshot of this feature on LinkedIn - here is that screenshot:
As you can see, it says:
Product videos offer a more engaging and immersive experience to customers. They allow shoppers to see products from every angle, demonstrate fit, show texture, and feature rich details that static images can't fully capture.
The video guidelines and best practices are:
- Minimum video length: 6 seconds
- Maximum video length: 240 seconds
- Minimum video resolution: 720p
- Videos should not be low resolution, blurry, or out of focus
- Aspect ratio: 9:16, 16:9, or 1:1
- No video file larger than 500MB
A year ago, Google Merchant Center added a creative content section that supported videos and assets for your Merchant Center campaigns.
There is also this large About Video assets in Merchant Center help document that was added in November of last year. But this looks different.
