Most of us has seen or been on a web page where a Google AdSense ad read, "This is a test" or something of that nature. I figured I do a quick post on it, since it is a relatively slow day in the search world.

Here is a sample of such as ad:

Google AdSense Test Ads

There are two possibilities for this type of ad:

(1) This is truly a test by Google, to test a new feature of some sort or a security feature. Typically, Google won't mark test ads as tests. Instead, Google would just test new ad features, such as scrolling ads, various logo placements, combining link and standard units together, images in ads, etc, directly in the ads that are live. But this can be a possibility.

(2) An AdWords advertiser is messing around and throws up an ad to mess with AdSense publishers heads. I like this answer more than my first one.
