Why Can't Google Fix The Places Response To Reviews Bug

Google PlacesIn August 2010, Google released a feature to enable Google Place business owners to respond to reviews in their Google Place pages.

But it didn't work for many, we had complaint after complaint after complaint and Google 'fixed' it at least twice but apparently it is still not fixed.

If you read the ongoing Google Places Help thread, you will see that Google fixed it a couple times, but every time they fix it, people complain that it still doesn't work.

A couple days after Stephan from Google said the issue was fixed, again - people came in to say it still doesn't work for them.

I know how bugs can be and I know Google wants to fix it. So if you are still having issues, explain to Google how they can reproduce those errors so Google can fix this once and for all.

Google Places is seriously under-resourced. There are so many issues with incorrect data and bugs like you have found. It's a shame as these Pages have huge potential to be a great resource for the user and a communication/marketing tool for the Page owner. With them now being integrated into natural search results you would think that Google would get their act together.....

just my 2 cents

Google Places is a disaster in local search for the local service and brick and mortar website. Much more even than in the fact it pushed organic down below it or confused it into it and angered many people used to finding good clean local organic real business results in the top but their policies about business addresses, keywords, business name, multiple websites and more are Draconian and negatively effected many small business owners that I personally know. It will be a short term $$ cash cow for them but in the end will be their Achilles heel as we now see the their true colors now on the local level. ps the mess they created with old bad listings after a biz moves or goes out of biz and goog still posts that junk in there above real siets is ridiculous and it goes on and on and on and you can not get thet stuff out of there.
