selfie matt cuttsSometimes SEOs need a laugh because when the rankings are up and down it can be pretty stressful for them.

Jenny Halasz joked on Twitter saying that if John Mueller of Google said taking selfies would improve your Google rankings, that all the SEOs out there would be buying selfie sticks.

The best part is that John Mueller played into it by saying, he would check with the team on that.

I mean, you can make a case for it. Back in June 2014 Matt Cutts, the lead of search quality back then, took a selfie and posted it on Twitter without explanation. Even the head of search, Amit Signhal and Matt Cutts with Danny Sullivan took a selfie at SMX on stage during a panel in 2014. Finally, Sergey Brin (founder of Google) with David Hasselhoff took a selfie in 2014. So maybe there is something to it? ;-)
