Google Fred Algorithm

Last month, we asked you all to fill out a poll around the Google Fred update. We covered this update in extreme detail dating to March 7th or so and you can find many more stories on it over here.

With just about 800 results in to our poll, we see that a lot of SEOs and webmasters have claimed their were hit by this update. We asked if "Your Sites Hit By Google's Fred Algorithm On March 8th?"

  • 46% said yes
  • 37% said no
  • 16% said they are not sure

If you remove the "not sure" responses, it looks more like this:

A significant number of webmasters and SEOs were indeed impacted by this update and yes, we did manage to get Google to confirm the update - which was not easy or expected.

Forum discussion continued at WebmasterWorld and Black Hat World.

This post was scheduled to go live today but was written earlier - I am currently offline today.
