Greg Finn

This is part of the say something nice about an SEO/SEM series - feel free to nominate someone over here.

Greg Finn, 36 years old, lives in Western New York with his wife and three year old twins - oh, and a very hairy 8 year old dog named Rogan. I've known Greg for many many years, both through his work as a correspondent at Search Engine Land and from his work within the community as well.

He is extremely giving of his time, always excited and ready to write up a thought provoking and detailed analysis of any search topic you give him. He has a deep inside understanding of how things work in search, both on the paid and organic side. The best part, is he a solid, caring and good person who will do anything to help someone else.

I honestly don't get excited to read much content we have in our space but when Greg writes something, I know I will always get something new out of it. So I love his writing and his perspective on search.

Oh, I also need to thank him for being the only person to send me a high resolution photo with a transparent background!

Casie Gillette nominated Greg and wrote much of what I wanted to say above:

Before there was Twitter, there was Sphinn and before there was Sphinn, there was Digg. That’s where I met Greg Finn. Later, I was lucky enough to meet him in real life through SMX. If you’ve seen him speak or moderate a panel, he genuinely makes any session better. On top of that, he has really helped me progress in my career. He encouraged me to start blogging for SEL and has been a supportive friend over the years. For anyone in social, he also kept us up to date on the latest happenings for years, writing news on SEL/Marketing Land. Overall, Greg is one of my favorite people in this industry and I’m sure many would say the same.

Greg Finn Bio: Greg is a partner at Cypress North, a performance digital marketing and development firm in Buffalo, NY. He has been managing digital marketing campaigns for more than a dozen years and is a certified Google AdWords partner. Greg is a correspondent at SearchEngineLand.com, and sister site, MarketingLand.com and has been a speaker at some of the largest search engine conferences like Search Marketing Expo, SocialPro & Pubcon. He fearlessly leads the marketing team at Cypress North, helping to hit goals, drive revenue & keep clients satisfied.

Favorite thing about the SEO community? The fact that it is forever changing. It is an adapt or die environment .. and for some odd reason that excites me.

One piece of advice to the SEOs out there? Take pride in your work. What many of us do is an art, and a reflection of yourself. Quality always wins and if you put everything into your work - you'll reap the rewards.

Favorite things in general? I enjoy being outside - hiking, skiing, running, basically anything away from my desk. I really enjoy hanging out with my two twins and seeing life through their eyes - it is pretty cool.

What you want to be known for in the SEO space? I'd like to be known as a hard worker that does meaningful quality work for clients, a great boss & leader of our incredible team, and a solid reporter that can help educate and inform the community and help people perform better.

You can learn more about Greg on his company site , follow him on Twitter and connect with him on LinkedIn.
