Google Teapot Easter Egg Uses Mobile Gyroscope

Google Teapot Easter EggThe other day, we reported on how Google handles the server 418 status code, which stands for I'm a teapot.

Well, Google has their own page for it at google.com/teapot and it not only returns a proper 418 status code but if you:

(1) Click on the teapot, it will start to pour tea.

(2) If you are on a mobile device and tilt the device, it will also pour tea into the cup.

This uses the three-axis MEMS-based gyroscopes to control the pouring of the tea.
