Yet more signs of Google dropping more and more Google+ footprints. The Google Places API Web Service has dropped the Google+ URLs to business listings and now only shows the Google Maps URL for the place listing.

Paul Gordon posted about it in the Local Search Forums and said "sometime in the last few days the Google Places Details API started to return Google Maps URL of the form for a place." Now it is https://maps.google.com/?cid={cid} where in the past it returned a Google Plus page URL of the form of https://plus.google.com/{google+ id or name}/about?hl=en-US.

Michael Cottam also noticed and posted about this change.

I guess no one should be surprised to see Google+ being suppressed more and more as time goes on?
