Google posted a note that it has made enhancements to the Merchant Center's Popular products reports. Specifically, the coverage and insights sections were improved back in June of this year, but Google just posted about this information on this past Friday afternoon.
The Merchant Center popular products report launched a bit over a year ago.
And Google posted on Friday saying, "Effective late June 2026, enhancements were made to Merchant Center's “Popular products” reports."
What changed? Google said:
- These reporting updates now provide a more accurate and comprehensive view of your products’ performance.
- You may notice a change to your popular products and brands as these changes may increase your coverage, rankings, and performance across all available regions.
Here is a screenshot of this report:
The Popular products tab shows cards with the most popular products and brands on Google, along with the current availability of your products. You can expect updated Popular products data every week, though the new data included in your metrics may take up to two weeks to become available.
You can access the report over here.
Google added a note saying, "These changes also apply to the Merchant API and BigQuery."
