As you know, Google has been using these hotel highlight icons to display hotel amenities in a more graphical manner. Well now Google is testing using these icons in the hotel search filters, to let searchers click on them to filter out hotel options in their searches.
Pete Meyers from Moz posted on Twitter a screen shot of this happening:
The "top choices," "guest favorites," "budget options," and more are all part of those highlight icons Google uses in hotel search.
I am not sure I like this user interface for filtering your hotel search options, it just doesn't seem the most efficient manner.
