I am hearing reports that Google Finance has replaced the News section on the right panel with an advertisement box. I checked Google Images for Google Finance screen shots and confirmed that in the past six months Google had a news box on the right side towards the top of a stock ticker page. Now if you visit Google Finance, there is a small link to read news but the rest is filled with a Google ad box.

Google Finance before with the news box:

I am being told by Google News publishers that this is resulting a significant drop in traffic to their sites.
