Former Googler: Google's Early March Update Gone Unnoticed Long Enough

Last week, we reported on a Google update that we suspected started a week or so before. There was some chatter in the SEO communities around an update, as well as some of the automated tracking tools noticed some changes - but overall, the SEO industry was quiet about it.

So after a week or so, I decided to document this as a small update. I said maybe it was signs of Google testing something which would lead to a larger update in the near future. Well, there was no larger update yet. So maybe Google did tweak something small earlier in the month that only a small number of webmasters noticed.

Yesterday, Glenn Gabe posted some data for one of his non-clients on Google+ showing a dip but more interesting to me was former Google's Pierre Far comment. He said:

Yes definitely something happened, and clearly it's gone unnoticed for long enough.

It is funny that Pierre Far is now on the other end and hearing him saying this from the SEO perspective.

He said there was "definitely" something that happened in terms of search rankings at Google and that update has "gone unnoticed for long enough."

Did you notice any ranking changes in early March? Some felt it may have been a small Panda vibration.
