Google Tests Dark & Light URLs In Search Results (For The Same URL)

Google is testing displaying the URL of the search result snippet where the https portion is a dark gray and the domain name portion is a light gray. It is a weird test, but hey, Google is always testing...

This was spotted by Brodie Clark who posted about it on X and SERP Alerts - here is his screenshot:

Brodie wrote, "The test features the domain name (which is simplified without sub-folders on mobile already) with a darker https:// and the domain name in lighter text."

I honestly do not like this test - at least, reverse it so the domain name is dark.
