Should Google Assistant Be Part Of Google's Core iOS App

Google Assistant Ios Iphone

The other day, out of Google I/O, we reported the news about Google Assistant for iPhone. But it is a standalone app, you need to download yet another Google app to your iPhone. The Google Assistant app is over here.

That makes 87 different iPhone apps for iOS from Google. 87!

So Danny Sullivan did a poll on Twitter asking if you prefer Google Assistant to be baked into the Google app or separate. Only 150 people or so took the poll but most said the app should be combined as one app:

Google believe people use the Google app to search for things while Google Assistant is different behavior. I wouldn't be surprised if Google does bring in the Assistant features into the core Google App, and even into other apps like Google Maps and more over time.

Do you think it is useful to have it as a separate app?

Search is changing - so put it into the Google core app.
