Google sent out emails to some advertisers notifying them that after June 10, 2026 they will automatically link your Google Ads account with your YouTube channel. Linking them will give Google Ads data on your YouTube channel.
Google wrote in the email, "Linking them grants your Google Ads account permissions to access organic view metrics, show ads to people who visit and interact with your channel, and get insights into how they engage with your channel after seeing an ad."
This was posted by Menachem Ani on X and Arpan Banerjee on LinkedIn. The email continues to say, "When you link a YouTube channel to a Google Ads account, the following features can be made available:"
- View counts: View organic (non-paid metrics for your videos.
- Data segments: Create data segments (previously known as "remarketing lists") based on viewers' past interactions on linked channels.
- Engagement: View earned actions metrics from video ads and use engagements (for example, subscriptions) on the channel as conversion actions in Google Ads.

You can opt out of the automatic linking before June 10, 2026 via the opt-out link in the notification.
