Bing Webmaster Outreach Nonexistent

Last week, I noticed a public post by Duane Forrester, the former Bing webmaster outreach person, on Facebook sharing his disappointment with the current state of Bing's webmaster outreach efforts. As you know, Duane left Bing towards the end of last year and since then, it seems no one has taken his place.

Duane posted on Facebook "You know what's sad? No one has published on the Bing Webmaster Blog in almost 6 months." He is truly upset by this.

In the past week or so, since then, I've seen a couple other complaints at WebmasterWorld about Bing. Now, WebmasterWorld is typically a very pro-Bing forum, so this is not typical. One thread was about how Bing has the "worst experience ever as a webmaster" and the other is "Bing Webmaster Tools Sitemaps Utility Broke" and it hasn't been fixed.

Truth is, it doesn't seem Bing is investing much in the webmaster community. This is a sharp contrast to Google who is continually investing in representatives, hangouts, support, Search Console features and more.

The last post on the Bing Webmaster Blog was just about six months ago. And people complain here I don't cover Bing enough. Why doesn't Bing talk about what they are doing more?

Forum discussion at WebmasterWorld and Facebook.
