Bing Local now allows you to verify your business listing over the web by answering 5 questions about your business. The new option is under the "alternative methods" when verifying your business on Bing Local.

The web verification lets you answer five questions regarding your business that supposedly only the business owner is expected to know. Well, I guess the business owner and Bing knows this about your business. If you answer those five questions correctly, you are now verified.

The information is pulled from D&B, which has information often supplied by the business owner.

I should note, this is often used by banks and credit agencies for verification purposes also, so it is not that unique. It is unique to the Bing or Google verification process.
