Here is a recap of what happened in the search forums today, through the eyes of the Search Engine Roundtable and other search forums on the web.

Search Engine Roundtable Stories:

  • Google Webmaster Tools Search Queries Report Impression & Click Drops
There are several webmasters reporting that their search query report, which now shows impressions and click throughs, is showing a major drop in those impressions and click throughs as of June 2nd and 3rd. The reports come via Google Webmaster Help forums. Yesterday, one webmaster came in and said: WT Search Queries number of impressions and number of clicks dropped severely on 6/2 and this drop is not reflected in any other stats including Google
  • Google Caffeine Is Finally Live: Google Just Got A Lot Faster
As I noted in my live blog coverage last night at SMX Advanced, Matt Cutts of Google announced that the Google Caffeine infrastructure is now officially completely live. Here is a video from Search Engine Land of the SMX announcement by Matt Cutts: Main things to know: This is not a ranking change, you should see major ranking changes from thisThis does change how Google indexes pages, the speed, scalability and how deep they can
  • South Africa Gets Google Maps Street Views
Google released Street View imagery last night for South Africa. This seemed to have been a priority for the upcoming World Cup tournament. South Africa's soccer stadiums got special attention, including Soccer City in Johannesburg, Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane and Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. • Looking For Google Webmaster Help? Google Sends You To Orkut Help
This morning, during my morning research phase for topics for this site, I had to switch up how I find my topics a bit due to the poor coverage with my Verizon MiFi. So I searched for [google webmaster help] and clicked on the link to the "Webmaster Help Forum" within the sitelinks. To my surprise, it took me to the Orkut Help Forums instead of the Google Webmaster Help forums. Here is a picture:
