To many SEOs, Matt Cutts seems scary because he is/was (not sure now) the head of Google's search spam team. He can make or break your web site in Google's search results. So that can be scary for many.
For Halloween, he not only dressed up as The Son Of Man but also as Jack Nicholson From The Shining - this is scary.
Now, if he was only still on active duty at Google - SEOs would be using this image a lot more.
Matt Cutts hinted on Twitter that I should use the image.
