Jim Noble RIPJim Noble, a 14 year veteran volunteer editor and administrator at DMOZ (Open Directory Project) has passed away after fighting cancer for a long time.

DMOZ announced it this weekend on their Twitter profile. He passed a couple months ago on November 18, 2014 from cancer. He fought the disease for a long time and his friend and fellow DMOZ editor "snooks" wrote on DigitalPoint Forums:

Jim was a great man, he will be sorely missed by his family and also his fellow Editors. He passed away in his sleep and is now free of pain after a lengthy battle with cancer. RIP Mate.

DMOZ and the editors have a long history with the search community. It is always sad to hear of deaths in our industry.

Jim was an editor/admin at DMOZ since 2001, DMOZ was launched in 1998. You can see Jim's profile at DMOZ over here.
