Jason Acidre

This is part of the say something nice about an SEO/SEM series - feel free to nominate someone over here.

Jason Acidre is 32 years old and lives in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines with his wife, Gianina Belle Acidre and their two kids - they are also expecting in August, around his birthday.

Jason is a content and link SEO and he has been doing amazing things in the Southeast Asia SEO community educating the region around solid and foundational SEO. He is constantly publishing SEO related content on his own blog as well as he contributes to many SEO related industry web sites. He speaks at events, he is a frequent blogger and is always sharing with the community.

Eli Schwartz, no relation to me, but was also honored here, nominated Jason and wrote:

Jason writes the absolutely most engaging content on SEO and link building, and is a pillar of the industry in all of Southeast Asia.

Jason Acidre Bio: Jason started in SEO back in 2010, working as an in-house SEO for Doubledot Media Ltd. - where he handled the technical SEO and link development campaigns for the company’s properties (Affilorama, SaleHoo, and TrafficTravis). The same year, he started Kaiserthesage, an SEO blog covering actionable tips for SEO, content marketing, and link building. Most of his writings were based on the things he learned along his journey working as a digital marketer.

Today, Jason Acidre is the Co-founder & CEO of Avaris IO (formerly known as Xight Interactive), an audience-first SEO & digital PR agency based in Manila, Philippines.

Favorite thing about the SEM community? SEO is very competitive in nature (as an industry and a practice). But despite the competition, it’s the only industry where you’ll see most involved practitioners willingly share everything they know (even to their competitors).

We are in one of the few industries in the world where unselfish people genuinely thrive and get rewarded. There’s so much love in this community - and that’s what I really love most about SEO.

One piece of advice to the SEMs out there? Never stop learning.

Too many things are happening in the digital marketing space. It’s always an advantage to know more of what’s waiting ahead, but it’s also important to focus on building your own core principles in SEO. Having a strong understanding of what works (long-term) will let you stay ahead, despite all the changes happening.

And don’t believe everything you read. Test them on your own. That’s the best way to learn and evolve in this constantly-changing space.

Favorite things in general? Aside from work and spending time with my family (two of my favorite things to do in life), I also enjoy reading crypto/blockchain news and sports news (NBA, NCAA basketball, and eSports).

Favorite colors are green and black. I love eating crabs. And I religiously follow One Piece (both the anime TV show and manga/comics).

What you want to be known for in the SEM space? When I started blogging back in 2010, I never really intended or expected for the blog to be somewhat popular. As I initially intended for the site to be my personal journal that I can use to review the strategies/tactics I learn along the way.

I never thought of aiming to become the best SEO or link builder in the world. But over time, I think I’ve come to embrace the goal of wanting the world to know that our country can contribute and compete in the world stage of SEO. I wanted to make sure that people will recognize that the Philippines have world-class talents who can make a dent in the international SEO scene. I guess I just want to be known as someone who’s helped to make that happen.
