Google: Adding Videos To Your Pages Doesn't Help With Rankings

Gary Illyes from Google said on Twitter that simply adding a video to your web page or web pages won't help that page rank better. Gary wrote "having a video on your page will absolutely not help you rank better in web search."

Gary then added that "you're entitled to have your own opinion" on the topic and you can decide what you want.

He didn't say it hurts to have a video. Although, we did cover not too long ago that technically, having videos on a page can slow down the page.
