Google: Structured Data Can Help Generate Actions For Google Assistant

Google Assistant

Google posted a reminder or PSA yesterday that adding structured data can sometimes help Google automatically generate Actions for the Google Assistant. Google posted this on Twitter and said "Google can use your structured data to automatically generate Actions for the Google Assistant."

I asked Google if this was something new and they implied that this was just a reminder about some evergreen content at this page. That page talks about the various markup options to help with Google Assistant and Google Search. The markup options include:

  • Podcasts
  • Recipes
  • News
  • FAQs
  • How-to-guides
  • How-to-videos

These are all markups that you should be aware of already and if not, here is your reminder.
