Google Posgts

Google quietly announced on Twitter that they added two new Google Posts types within Google My Business. Now you can post about products and/or offers including the what's new and event posts.

The truth is, the offer option we saw in March and had it since then - so I guess Google is just announcing it now? The products does seem new to me.

Product posts can be used to emphasize a specific product your business sells. Product posts require a title and photo or video. You can also include a call to action button and other information. For example, an electronics store may promote a new phone for sale, Google says. The fields include a product image or video, product name, price (min and max options), product details, and buttons.

Offer posts provide promotional sales or offers from your business. Offer posts require a title and start/end dates and times. A "View offer" CTA button is automatically added to the post. You can also include a photo/video, coupon code, link, and terms and conditions with the post. For example, a pizza parlor may advertise a 20% off large pizzas for a week, Google said. The fields include image or video, post content, title, start and end time, coupon code, link to redeem offer and terms and conditions.

I love using the "what's new" feature for my business, I use it whenever I post a new blog post on my company site.

Forum discussion at Twitter.
