Today across most Google home pages, not all, and currently not the Google.com US version, you will find a Google Doodle/Logo for the Perseid Meteor Showers.

Back in 2009, Google had a world-wide Google Doodle for the Perseids Meteor Shower but today, it is not as wide spread. Here is a map of today's Doodle's reach:

The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseids are so-called because the point from which they appear to come, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Perseus.
