My HTTP To HTTPS Status Report For RustyBrick

As you may remember, Google starting giving HTTPS a ranking boost last week and that morning, Thursday August 7th, at around 10am EST, I migrated http://www.rustybrick.com/ to https://www.rustybrick.com/.

I promised to keep you posted on the status, so here is an early report. Within Google Analytics, I see no traffic changes, yet, specifically limited the traffic to Google Organic.

On Saturday night, I submitted the XML Sitemap to Google via Webmaster Tools. I forgot to do so on Thursday but the file was in place since then. Then Sunday morning, RustyBrick showed in Google under HTTPS in the search results. It did not show on Friday afternoon.

As you can see, we have some way to go but it is going nicely.

The search queries chart is starting to look good also, not this is showing data from August 9th, which was about two days after the switch over.

I did compare Google Analytics traffic but again, it shows no noticeable change from Sunday to Sunday. In fact, a see a small increase but that can be for many reasons.
