This post is scheduled and not real time because honestly, I don't know if I will have power to write this live. I am not in the thick of Hurricane Sandy and I want to make sure you SEO geeks (in a good way) have content to consume.

Google must really love New York City, yes, they have a huge huge office in the Chelsea area of New York City - because they created this special map that shows evacuation zone data from NYC Open Data, open shelters, weather information and live webcams.

You can access the map at google.org/crisismap/2012-sandy-nyc.

A Google+ post shares some details on this announcement. The first comment?

Nice of you to include North Jersey.

Yea, North Jersey is getting slammed as well. But Google does have a larger crisis map.

Wish us all luck!
