A Google Manual Actions Bug For Sneaky Mobile Redirect Detected & More

There seems to be a serious bug impacted some webmasters, mostly those who were notified of having sneaky mobile redirects on their site. It is around the renewed sneaky mobile redirects we covered earlier this month and starting a few days later, Google sent out a new wave of notices.

But when some of the webmasters click on the email notification about their "Sneaky Mobile Redirect Detected" notification and they go to their manual actions section in the Google Search Console, it says there are no manual actions. So the webmaster is left with nothing to act on and they cannot process a reconsideration request.

The thread is at Google Webmaster Help and finally a top contributor got word back from Google on this. She said:

Google is working to fix this ASAP. Unfortunately, I don't have a timeframe. I realize that it's extremely frustrating but, unfortunately, sometimes these things happen.

Make sure the issue is fixed, so that as soon as the action appears, you can file a reconsideration request. Keep checking the manual action viewer.

If I hear anything more, I'll update the thread.

But since then, which was Saturday, Google has not fixed the issue yet.

Here is one screen shot of the apparent coding bug here:

But again, Google has not directly addressed this as a bug, only a top contributor has. But they can be trusted.

Update: On May 18th, Google fixed this bug.
