Google Showing Fewer Videos In Their Search Results

Google Video

According to STAT Search Analytics and RankRanger, Google is showing significantly fewer video boxes or carousels in the search results then it did just a week or so ago. It seems Google is showing about 30% fewer videos or so.

STAT notified me of this on Twitter and wrote "It looks like Google took away a good chunk of video carousels on the 13th across most markets. On desktop, single videos still remain, but on smartphone we're seeing no replacement." And it shows a similar pattern when I look at the RankRanger tool for tracking this as well.

I am not sure if this is a bug with Google or an intended change or maybe Google changed how they show these videos. Did you notice fewer videos showing up in Google's search results?
