Google Doodle Walter Cronkite Journalist

Today on Google.com in the United States of America is a special animated Google logo, Doodle, for the 100th birthday of the American journalist, Walter Cronkite. He was the anchorman for the CBS Evening News for 19 years and has been a legend and respected individual for his career, many journalists and reporters look to his legacy as a benchmark for today.

The Doodle itself highlights some of his more remembered TV moments, including World War II, Watergate, the Vietnam War, and the assassination of JFK. The last slide is the date he retired as the anchorman at CBS, March 6, 1981.

He was born on November 4, 1916 in Saint Joseph, MO and died at the age of 92 on July 17, 2009 in Manhattan, NYC.

He was also known as Old Ironpants, Uncle Walter, and the king of the anchormen.
