Google AdSense has lowered the identity verification threshold from $10 to $0, according to an update to the help documentation.
Google posted the updated threshold changes in this document and it says, "depending on your location, you may be subject to the following threshold changes."
- Your identity verification threshold is now $0. You must verify your identity before your account can start showing ads and receiving payments from Google AdSense.
- Your address verification is still $10 (or local equivalent).
Previously the page said, "Note: If you have separate payments accounts for AdSense and YouTube, you verify your information when either of your payments accounts reaches the verification threshold. You only need to verify your information once."

Starting June 2026, you may need to verify your identity before your account can start showing ads and receiving payments from Google AdSense. You will need to submit a government-issued photo ID. Depending on your location, you may also be asked to take a video selfie. This process confirms the accuracy of your account information and helps protect against fraud.
