I spotted an interesting thread at Google Groups asking how can one take over a group, when the original and only Group administrator has passed away?
The owner/administrator of our sailing group died a few weeks ago. We have a new webmaster for the website, but we need to switch over the discussion group administration. Contact info, website URL etc. has changed as well.How do we do this? He did not leave ID or password information.
Google Groups Guide replied that it is possible but they first need to look at "your group and account details." He asked to take it offline, so that the details are not public, which makes sense.
So what do you do? Use the Google Groups Contact Us Form, select the "Report a technical problem" option and specify the following info:
- Group Name
- the owner's email address
- and the new owner's email address
