adwords-orkut-google-net.pngA WebmasterWorld thread reports that some Google AdWords advertisers can now easily place Google ads on the Orkut community. He said when he logged into his AdWords account he was shown the following message:

New! orkut.com is now part of the Google advertising network. With site targeting you can select specific communities on which to advertise. Run text, image, and Flash ads on orkut to start gaining new customers.

Advertise on orkut and show your message to the millions who use orkut to meet friends and stay connected. I logged into my account and I do not see this message, but I doubt this guy is making it up.

I also could not find any news, blogs, history or details in Google AdWords help section on this new feature.

Forum discussion at WebmasterWorld.

Update: The link takes you to here which is a site targeted campaign for Orkut.
