  • Suggestion: Instant Previews In Google Webmaster Tools
    I complain about Google, Bing and other companies a lot here. But it has been a while since I offered some suggestions. This morning I tweeted that I would expect to see a new feature in Google Webmaster Tools to manage the new Page Previews in the Google results.     Have you ever seen the referral URL in Google's search results contain "untrusted_dlcp" in it? A WebmasterWorld thread has one member asking about it. He said he spotted it when searching for the Google SEO Guide, which is a PDF. The URL looks like this: static.googleusercontent.com/external_content/untrusted_dlcp/www.google.com/en//webmasters/docs/search-engine-optimization-starter-guide.pdf I bolded the untrusted_dlcp part. DLCP can have several definitions according to the Free Dictionary.     Tomorrow, November 13th, is 160th birthday of Robert Louis Stevenson. Robert Louis Stevenson is well known for writing Treasure Island, an adventure novel. The Google logo, which is now available on Google Australia depicts that well. Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and died at the age of 44 on December 3, 1894 in Vailima, Samoa.   • Google Maps Goes At It Alone In More Countries
    Like they did in the US and some other countries, Google Maps is moving away from relying on third party data providers for their map data. Google wants control over the data to make changes as they see fit. Google announced they have now done so in 10 countries.     There are few high quality directories out there, one of them being Business.com. Well, there will be one less soon. The owners of Business.com announced they are closing it down.
