Another Look At Yahoo! "Quick Links" in Search Results | Main | Yahoo! Did Not Announce YPN Is Going International

Add PageRank, Anchor Text, Link Status & NoFollow Data to Google's Webmaster Central Link Tool

Are you a huge fan of Google's link tool? Would you like to see more details on the page, such as:

  • PageRank score
  • The anchor text of a link
  • Which links are nofollowed
  • Are the links still live
  • Which links are images

If so, you can add a Greasmonkey script to your browser and the Google Webmaster Central Link tool page will automatically add this data to your reports.

Joost created this code, it is not supported by Google, but it seems cool to me. It adds many but not all, of the features I requested to be added to the Google tool.

You can get more information about the script here, I have yet to try it out myself.

Why in the world would anyone want to look at Toolbar PageRank with live link data from Google Webmaster's link tool? That's like saying, "Give me old, poisoned mayonnaise with my fresh turkey sandwich".

There are times when I just have to shake my head at the short-sightedness of the SEO community and this is one of them.

Why always so negative. The other parts of the tool is nice.

I still love Google PR being shown, for a few days after a PR update.
That is more like mayonnaise that just reached its best before date.
This will prove to be a handy tool, especially for my readers.

Thanks for picking up the thread and introducing the code. It's a pretty neat tool.

Thanks for pointing out this great tool!

Is there any proof that this is "live link data" as Michael suggested?

On the many sites that I monitor I am only seeing my links updated every month or longer.

So it seems the external link data is almost as old as the pagerank data...

nothing wrong with seeing the PR of a site that links to you its just thereto show you the score and quality of the page linking to you, of course a link from a related topic page should be considered more important
