Yoast Bing Google Live Index

Joost de Valk announced at YoastCon that the popular WordPress plugin, Yoast SEO, will provide live indexing with both Google and Bing starting next month.

I'll be honest, I am a bit confused on how this will work with Google but I assume with Bing - they are working with their new submit URL API.

They explained on their blog "For Google the details on this are not entirely determined yet, but a Google Search Console account will probably be required." So it seems they aren't clear and for some reason, I doubt it would be the Indexing API because that is highly restricted to specific types of content.

Joost wrote:

When you connect your site to MyYoast, you’ll authorize it to send messages back and forth. One of the types of messages that will be sent will be when you publish, update or delete anything on your site. We’ll pass that notification on to Bing, and Bing will check the changes within approximately one minute of you hitting the button.

John Mueller from Google said Yoast isn't the only platform able to do this:

So again, I suspect this is about submitting sitemaps with Google but what do I know?
