Link Policy IconA WebmasterWorld thread has discussion around link removals requests and if web sites should have a printed policy for how they handle link removal requests.

Truth is, if your site is at all popular, I am sure you have received several requests to have links removed from your web site. The question is, how do you handle them? Do you delete the requests? Respond positively or negatively? Require them to pay you off?

It depends on how often you get these requests, but having a documented policy for this, might make your life easier.

Link removal is a big business in the SEO space these days. Google has said, there is no need to pay for link removals, instead disavow them. But at the same time, sometimes you want the link removed.

In that case, do you think web sites should add a link removal clause to their policies pages?
