This week in search at the Search Engine Roundtable we break that Google promises to launch Penguin 3.0 in a reasonable time, within the 2014 year. Google’s John Mueller explains how Google’s algorithms impact rankings. Google confirms you need a Penguin refresh to see ranking changes. Google said they are working on making Penguin run faster. We may have saw a Panda refresh on the 5th. Google indexed their own search results but later fixed the bug. Google said responsive design is not a specific ranking signal. Google now recommends using 301s over 302s for site moves. Google’s Matt Cutts migrated to HTTPS but he used a 302 redirect. Google says using Sitelinks Searchbox schema does not give you the search box. Google said they process the disavow file continuously. Google may hide your second line description for AdWords mobile ads. Google AdWords updated the Editor to version 10.6. Google has a new knowledge graph named In The News. Google Webmaster Tools API was updated. Google Analytics has a new benchmarking report. Google’s John Mueller messes with us over Authorship with rel=agent. That was this week at the Search Engine Roundtable.
