SEOs Required To Take Polygraph Lie Detector Tests

polygraph testJenny Mugridge posted at Cre8asite Forums saying that her former employer is now requiring all new and existing SEOs in the company to take polygraph tests.

She wrote, "my old SEO company has recently announced that they are doing polygraph tests, psychographic profiling and background checks on all their employees."

Why? Less for SEO issues and more for employee conduct issues. She said this is to try to avoid having "disgruntled ex-employees screwing things up."

Jenny doesn't seem to be a fan of this at all. But I believe many companies to background checks on employees. But the SEO position, is it required? They are higher level people, no? Or maybe they are hiring new people who are just getting into the game?

Of course, you will have those people who feel you can't trust an SEO. The perception of SEOs aren't that stellar these days.

Kim Krause Berg said in the thread:

Who would work for a company that doesn't trust its employees? Knowing how many SEO companies that do cheat, lie and misguide their clients, I think prospective employees should do their research before choosing a company to work for. Employees are treated badly enough these days. Employers need to step up their game, not the other way around.

Does your SEO firm do stuff like this?
