Here is a recap of what happened in the search forums today, through the eyes of the Search Engine Roundtable and other search forums on the web.

We may have had a Google local search ranking algorithm update as well last week. Google Search Console added a new HTTPS report and two new product reviews. Google also expanded eligibility for product and merchant listings for more sites. Google Ads has a new way to manage your automatically applied recommendations. Search Engine Roundtable Stories:

  • Google Local Search Ranking Update Around September 7th
Google may have also pushed out a local search ranking update around September 7th. This is in addition to the helpful content update between August 26th and September 9th and the September 2022 core update that kicked off on September 12th.

  • Google Ads Consolidates Manage Automatically Applied Recommendations In One Page
Google Ads has added a new consolidated or bundled page that puts all your automatically applied recommendations on one page. Google said there is "a new version of the "Manage" tab where you can explore recommendation bundles and learn more about each optimization."
  • Google's Daniel Waisberg Blowing A Shofar
A couple weeks ago, I posted a photo from a museum I was in while on vacation of a shofar (ram horns) room. Then Mordy Oberstein shared a photo of Daniel Waisberg, from the Google team, blowing a sho
