Google said they likely will port all the features of the old Search Console to the new, but there is some confusion if that is true or not.
One specific feature that Google plans on migrating over but vastly changing seems to be the property sets feature that let's you combine multiple properties into one and see the data in aggregate.
The question about if this will migrate over to the new version or not came up twice and both time, Google's John Mueller hinted it will be migrated but in a different way.
On Twitter yesterday, John said "Property sets are on our list, but we want to do them smartly, so I don't have a simple ETA."

In a webmaster hangout on video he explained a bit more on their goals saying he wants to make it easier for people to fine the sites or properties they want combined in an easier way. He said at the 32:24 mark:

Yeah, I think that's something that the team wants to expand on with the new Search Console to make it easier. Because the feedback of things like I have these four variations of every website that I have, and it's such a hassle to figure out which one I have to look at that’s, that's something that we hear a lot.
So trying to find a way to make that a little bit easier to get the bigger picture of your website without having to figure out is it HTTP, HTTPS, www or non www that I have to look, that's kind of thing we are looking at.
This would be cool if Google was able to show you in a single verified property the details of the non www, www, http, https , mobile app, etc in one report by default, wouldn't it?
