Google's John Mueller said in a Webmaster Hangout ten days ago (yea, I've been saving this one) on YouTube at the 37:40 mark that Google is working on making Google better at rendering JavaScript but also hopes to improve their "recommendations" around how webmasters should help GoogleBot access the content there.

John said "on the one hand improving the rendering, on the other hand improving our recommendations." He added, " I suspect we'll have a blog post, I don't know later this month or early next month, sometime around then."

So it seems like Google is coming out with new and improved JavaScript recommendations within the next few weeks or so.

I for one am looking forward to it.

Here is the transcript:

We're working on improving that (documentation on JavaScript) a little bit. On the one hand improving the rendering, on the other hand improving our recommendations. And I suspect we'll have a blog post, I don't know later this month or early next month, sometime around then. When we have all of this kind of really worked out well.
