Google is rolling out a new Search Console performance report filter for the web results named Multimodal. Some may see it now, when you select the Search type filter in the performance report, under the "Web" option it now shows "Text-based" and "Multimodal."
Google describes the filter as "Web-multimodal tracks search results triggered by a query that uses an image, photo, or screenshot. Text-only queries are tracked as Web text-based." It allows you to see how people are discovering your content using multimodal features like Google Lens, Circle to Search on Android, image uploads to Google Search, and the Chrome right-click "Search this image" feature.

In the Performance report (Search results): Overview and basic setup help document it says:
You can change the date range or search type using the filters at the top of the report:Web: multimodal - Includes web search results where an image was used as part of the search.
In the Performance report (Search results): Dimensions and data groupings it says:
Query data for multimodal searches: Because multimodal searches mostly use images rather than text, specific text query data isn’t available for this traffic. As a result, the queries dimension isn’t available when this search type is selected.
I assume some of you may start seeing this filter soon...
This is neat new data but no, we still do not have click or query data for the generative AI performance report.
Update: It seems there is no query data yet for this filter? I mean, it makes sense - searching by image might not also have any query data.
