Google Images SafeSearch Warning

Google has changed how their Google Images SafeSearch filter work. Now by default, Google will take the stricter approach to filtering explicit images for showing up in the image results. Now, the only way for the explicit results to show up is to:

(1) Toggle the SafeSearch filter to check off the "Filter explicit results"
(2) Search for very explicit queries

There are dozens of complaints in the Google Web Search Help forums about this, in which Googler, Albert Choi responded:

This change actually doesn’t prevent anyone from getting to the content they want to see. So, if you search for explicit content, you’ll be able to find it -- just make sure your query reflects this intent, and Google will show the most relevant content for the search.

Here is the new toggle option for filtering or displaying explicit images:

Google Filter explicit results

In the past, it showed SafeSearch Off, Moderate or On. Now it is just on or off.

With it on, results may look like this if they are explicit:

google boobs filtered

With it off, results will show up:

google boobs unfiltered

Here is a video on how the new filters work:

Don't like it? I hear Bing Image Search has some awesome porn.
