GoogleRecon Day Four: Use Fetch As GoogleBot

Sep 5, 2014 - 8:13 am 2 by

More of the same old same old with tips from Google on reconsideration requests this week - but that was expected.

This one, posted last night on Google+ tips users off that if they have a manual action for content issues, that sometimes it is due to a hack and if you want to see what the spiders see, i.e. the hack, use Fetch As Google tool in Google Webmaster Tools.

Here is how Google put it:

Sometimes a page may look clean to you but hackers often inject content that only search engines can easily see. 'Fetch as Googlebot' shows how your page looks to Googlebot (our website crawler) so use it to identify and clean up hacked content. Learn more about Fetch as Google: http://goo.gl/C15CyK.

Our weeklong #GoogleRecon series is almost over. Let us know if you have any questions in the comments below or by using the hashtag #GoogleRecon .
