GoogleRecon Day Three: Disavowing Links Not Enough

Sep 4, 2014 - 8:16 am 32 by

Like I said before, these Google Reconsideration posts on Google+ by Google offers information that is really not new. So the item I am covering today we noted back in October 2013.

Google said it is simply not enough to use the disavow file to remove bad links to your site. You need to make a serious effort to manually remove links as well. Google said on Google+:

For a reconsideration request to be successful, a significant percentage of inorganic links should be removed from the website. If you can get a backlink removed, remove the link instead of adding it to the disavow file. Simply disavowing links will not be enough to make a reconsideration request successful.

Maybe Google will surprise us and give us something we do not know on day four? ;-)
