Google: More Pages About Topic X Versus Y Won't Hurt Your Google Rankings For Y

Former Google search quality representative Murat Yatagan asked an SEO question to current Googler John Mueller. The question was a bit deep and posted in a very concise way on Twitter. If a site targets X and Y business but the number of X pages on the site is 30 times more than the number of Y pages, would that put the Y queries at an important disadvantage for ranking Y's queries?

John Mueller said no, it does not.

I am still amazed at how Murat pulled off asking that question in a 140 characters.

In short, if you have a site that targets two different topics for queries in Google. But the site has 30 times more content on one topic over the other, it doesn't signal to Google that the pages that target the other topic shouldn't rank as well.
