Google: Penguin Update Should Be Faster & We May Not Announce It

Jan 28, 2015 - 8:37 am 38 by

Google Penguin WeightsFolks are still wondering about the status of the Google Penguin updates. As you may remember, there has not been much activity around it since early December after they put it on a holiday break.

Google's John Mueller is telling us in a Google+ hangout at 7 minutes and 21 seconds in, that the Penguin updates should move faster, in terms of an update cycle. It may not be monthly but it should be "faster than the last," he said. He also said he cannot promise Google will announce the update, that it depends on how big the update is or other factors.

Here is what John said:

We are generally moving to a little bit of a faster update cycle there [Penguin]. But I can’t say that it will be monthly, there might be some changes there, subtle differences with the timing.

It should be faster than the last.
